Posted @withrepost • @slo.shar.sbr A couple news cycles have whooshed right by without me having a chance to post, but a week ago today I had a very rewarding race at #santacruz703 I've raced there several times over the years dating back to the good ole days when it was Big Kahuna. The fastest I've ever covered this course was 5:10 twelve years ago & most recently 5:34 (I blame the taco truck we stopped at on the way to the race that year 🤢...), so I was super stoked to finish in 5:04. It was fun to finally rep #tribiketransport from the top of the AG podium & earn the only AG slot to Worlds in Finland next year. My brothers & I were born there, so I've been hoping to get a slot ever since Lahti was announced as the host city a year and a half ago. 🇫🇮 As I'm knocking on the door of my next decade, it's pretty cool to be getting stronger & faster. Thank you @racerelentless for believing that i could and pushing me over the past few months so that I started to believe that I could, too. I've got to give a shout out to #effortlessswimming . I highly encourage everyone, no matter how fast or slow or accomplished or uncomfortable you are in the water, to take Brenton's 5 Day Catch Challenge. I have been trying FOR YEARS to get faster in the water. 5 Days & $10 later, I'm finally on my way and I can't wait to take his 8 week program this fall. 💦 🐬💦 Not only was the race a success, but it was so much fun catching up w/ old friends & new ones - one of the highlights was unexpectedly seeing the beautiful couple that introduced Byron & me ten years ago! Posted @withrepost • @tri_dicole Alright everyone - there were 2 slots for the Kona Ironman World championships in my Age Group. I was 2nd in the 35-39 and 3rd overall female at IRONMAN California Sooooo…. I’ll be in Kona next October 🌋 🏝 🌺 🎉 I had no clue I would place 3rd overall female, but Kona was my goal all along. I never put it out there publicly although everyone said I would qualify… but you never know what will happen race day (like 25 Mph winds with 30-40 mph wind gusts) 😳 you adjust and roll with the (wind) punches 💨 🌪 👊 that’s Ironman racing. We spent the first day of fall in Flagstaff hiking in the Aspen Circle. It was beautiful and peaceful. Thankful for some time together.
